Ten applications were raceived lor the position, which carries a salary of two hundred guineas. The names were reduced to four—Mean* Xoble (ltecfion), Doogan (Greymoutb), Shannon (Wellington), and Gibba (G.)ie). The final ballot was between Noble and Doogun, the latter receiving the support of the Grey Club with 18 votes, and Xoble that of the other four club* with 32 votes. Noble w»s then appointed for a year.
