The Supreme Court sessions were opened this morning before Mr Justice Chapmaa t who commented on • the lengthy calendar but remarked that the crime statistics of New Zealand compared more than favorably with those of other countries. It was regrettable that there were so many youthful criminals, showing the need-for legislative reform.
