A BICYCLE ACCIDENT.
YOUNG MAN INJURED. A young man named John McTaggart, a member of tlie Core railway station staff, mot with a somewhat severe accident late last night or early this morning. Jt appears that MeTaggart was visiting friends at AVaikaka Valley yesterday and left for home on his bicycle shortly before 11 p.m. Nothing more was heard of him until about 5 o'clock this morning, when Mr Crawford, of the Valley, found the unfortunate man lying on the road at the bottom of Sheddan's hill. MeTaggart was in a (lazed condition and co'uld give no account of the, circumstances of the accident. The machine was badly knocked about, the front wheel being severely buckled. It is thought he must have run into the fence or ditch at the bottom of the hill, which resulted in the accident. ])r Brugli, who was immediately sent for, found the injured man to be suffering from slight concussion of the brain and ordered his removal to the Gore Hospital, where lie is progressing favorably.
