At the wool sales Home buyers took 73,000 bales and tho Continent 32,000, and there wore held over 16,000 bates. Averago to superior greasy combing merinos fully maintained May rates. Scoured decliued 5 per cent, and short iaulty per cent.; all fine crossbrcdß and best parcels in medium and lower grades were unchanged. Shabby and faulty decliued 7} per cent. Slips sold well at about 5 per cent, decline. Best merino lambs were unchanged. Short and faulty declined 5 per cent., and lambs Jd to Id.

A lino of I'wn hoggets was exceptionally good and sold at 15s 3d ; small halfbreil ewe hoggets brought 1& Id; other lots of ewo hoggets, 12s to 12s 9d; average lines of mixed sexos, 9s to 10s; and others, 8s to 8s 6d; low-conditioned wethers, 10s and upwards; ewes. 12s to 14s. Fat Lambs.—Only >lB5 were entered. Export buyers wore not operating, and butchers bought 192 head, the balance being passed in. Prices ranged from 9s Id to 14s; a few extra, to 15s 3d. Fat Sheep.—There was a fairly largo yarding, of which owes formed onlv a small proportion. Among the wethers were many lines of prime quality and heavyweights. Several of the export buyers were operating, and good competition continued throughout tho sale, last week's rates being maintained. Ewes, if anything, wore rjither firmer, in consequence of the short supply. The range of prices was: Prime wethers, los fid to 19s; lighter. 12s 6d to 15s; prime ewes, 14s to lGs Cd ; others, 9s lid to 1.3s Get; merino wethers, 10s Gd to 13s (ill.

Fat Cattle.—Two hundred and fortytour were yarded, the bulk being good to prime steers. There was a dull demand and a number of lines were paused. Primes, however, showed little or no change. Steers made £4 12s 6d to £l2 10s; heifers. £ij 10s to £7 10s; cows, £4 to £7 17s 6d—equal to 19s (id to 21s (id for prime, 18s to l!)s for medium, and lis to 17s for cow and inferior beef per 1001b. Dairy eows were in good demand and sold at £3 15s to C 8 2s Gd, a line of heifers making £6 os to £lO.

Store Cattle.—Only 13 head were yarded. Most- of these were eows and sold at 25s to £3 10s, heifers bringing to T'igs.—There was a small yarding, and the demand consequently showed improvement. Blair, is to be congratulated on acquiring the above animals troni Messrs Dickie and Sous, During the past season these breeders received 17 first and 11 second prizes at Gore, luvercargill, and Wyndham shows, showing that their stud is second to none in the district.

CLEARING SALE AT WENDON. J'lio National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows: ci held a most satisfactory clearing sale Oil account of Messrs Davidson and Nowall at their iariu, Wendon, on Tuesday last. There was a large attendance of farmers from all the neighboring districts, and as Messrs Davidson and Netvall have dissolved partnership everything had to bo sold, the prices obtained being very pleasing to both vendors.
