SITTING AT OAMARU.
1 GHRISTCHUKCH FORCE. PER UNITED I'BESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, July 20. Regarding the action of the Wellington members of the police force in deciding to engage counsel to represent thom before tho Police Commission when tho Commission reaohes Wellington, an officer of tho local force was asked by a reporter if any similar steps were being taken by members of the force in tnis city, and was informed that so far as tho police officer was aware there was no proposal of tho kind .suggested here. Ho did not think that tho same necessity existed in Christchurch for similar action to that taken in Wellington, because 110 general accusations had been mado involving the conduct of the members of tho force here.
OAMARU, July 21. Tho Police Commission held a short sitting lioro this morning. It is understood that as a result the Commission will recommend a transfer of tho sitting from Central Oamaru district to Dunedin. The Commissioner loft for Timarn this afternoon.
