Exporters' and millers' requirements are very small, the only sales being in feed lines for local use. Prime milling', 2s to ~s Id; good to best feed, .Is 11-id to 2s; inferior to medium, Is i)d to ls lid. Wheat.—ilillers are not disposed to operate heavily, and they confine their attention to lines of undeniable condition. Fowl wheat is extremely scarce, and has a tendency to better prices. I'rime milling, 3s 5d to 8s lid; medium to good, 3s 4d to 3s 5(1; whole fowl, 3s 2d to 3s 3d: broken and damaged, 2s lid to 3s Id. Barley.—Maltsters are looking forward to the new crop from northern districts, and the demand for old grain is not keen. Stocks of N.Z. mutton on i hand are light. The average price for < Canterbury is l,Jd per lt>, for light I weights (of which there is a limited . supply), 4d for heavy weights ; for i other and North Island mutton 3 : Jd. The lamb market is quiet, stocks being heavy. This season's N.Z. is worth 5d per lb (nominal). Australian Id. The beef market is very dull. N.Z. hind-quarters 3Jd. fores 2'Jd The butter market has collapsed, American renovated and mixtures being in large supply and seriously nfveiing the market, which is weak. Holders are anxious to sell, but buyers are holding buck expecting prices lo go lower. Choicest New Zealand to-day is lOlis per cwt, Danish Ills. The cheese market is quiet, prices being slightly weaker and transactions very limited. N.Z. is quoted at (ids per cwt. The hemp market is linn, light shipments being expected from Manila. "Good fair Wellington" on spot is worth Cfti 10s, January-March shipments Manila "fair current" grade £l2 10s on spot. Buyers have been offering for cocksfoot seed more freely, and stocks on hand are light. Bright clean N.Z. seed (I'Tllb per bushel) is worth 51s per cwt.
