A filature of the entertainment was thy music,' drill competition, for which (hive teams of girls ami two teams of boys entered. Mr and Mrs Alayo acted as judges. Jn the gills' division. the team wearing blue badges was placed first, that with red badges second, and that wi(Ji white badges third. The two teams of boys tied. In addition to this interesting contest the school children gave a number of other items, their performance in every instance reflecting the highest credit 11(1011 the training given by Mr Leannoa(h. Mr and Mrs Mayo contributed a spirited overture for violin and piano ; songs were givco by Mrs Tuiloch, Misses Macpherson, 'lhomson, t'owie, Messrs Henderson and Hawkins : and riKUadons by Messrs I', A. fcadic aud A. Why lock, the excellence of (he items being evidenced by the fruijueiicy of encores. X further attraction was added by the appearunce of a number of ex-pupils of the school, who contributed largely to the success of the evening by their .efforts.
