THE WORLD'S NEWS. A number of foreign Jews have boon prevented from landing at Capetown. Lord Metbuen has (reclined the offer of tho Governorship of Malta. A Frenchman named Maillot, after purchasing some wine at Laufler's vineyards, Perth, began to destroy the fruit. Lauffrr remonstrated with him, whereupon Maillot turned and shot him dead. The King is making splendid progress. Sir Francis Laking. Physician in-Ordinary to the King, reports that the period in which any complication was likely is already past. He anticipates an early convalescence. Mr W. Redmond and Mr John Roche, the Irish members who received sentences in connection with the holding of unlawful assemblies, have been released. It is supposed that Russia purchased tho cipher only of the British despatches said to be stolen at Pera (a suburb of Constantinople). Tbe presentation to the Reichstag of a statistical table made by the Kaiser's own hand, comparing the strengths of the British and German navies, is interpreted in England as significant of the Kaiser's ultimate ambition.
