Mr William A. Clark, Jan., son of Senator . Clark, the " Silver King "of Butte, Montana, has just won £2OO 000 in a curious fashion. The senator, who has several married children, offered this snm as a prize for the first grandson. Mrs Clark, jnn., has just presented her husband with a fine boy, and iy hence the big prize goes to the senator's eldest * pop. The exports of cheese from the provinces of Ontario and Quebec during the season iust cbsed w'hichambanted in value to £3,700,000, ware the largest in the history of the provinces. The valne of the butter exported was When South Australia celebrated her 66th birthday the other day, eight men signed the roll of 1836 arrivals, and a similar number tba roll of 1837.
