GORE CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

A meeting of the Gore Caledonian Society was held last night in Mr Gi'ubs' rooms, Mr J. Beattie (president) in the chair. It was resolved that sports be held on Easter Monday, and Mr D. Cochrane was appointed secretary (vice Mr Domigan resigned) and Mr Macara treasurer. The following committee was appointed : The President, Dr Copland, Messrs I'. Wallls, Baker, Ambrose, G. Taylor, Boss, Gibbs, A. Martin, Mitchell, H. Wright, Robins, Domigan, Macara, Instone, Cochrane, G. Whittingham, TJssher, Yule, A. A. Mac Gibbon, Laurenson, Anderson, Hartnett, Holmes, Pope, and H. Martin. The President and Messrs Wallis, Baker, Cochrane, Whittingham, and Dr Copland were appointed a sub-committee to prepare a draft programme of events (prize money not to exceed £6O), and to submit the same for approval at the next meeting, to be held on Monday evening, 20th inst. The President and Messrs Boss, Whittingham and Ussher were appointed a grounds committee, and it was decided to engage the Town Hall for tbe evening of the sports. The retiring secretary (Mr Domigan) submitted a statement showing the total receipts to date to have been £132 2s lid, and the expenditure £lO4 Is 2d. From the balance, however, had to be deducted bank interest and charges and several old accounts owing by previous secretaries, which, when paid, would leave a credit balance of about £l3, in addition to which there were assets valued at £l2 10s.—A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Domigan for past services. The programmee committee meet at the Athenseum on Friday evening and the general committee on Monday evening, both meetings at 8 o'clock.
