T j we held a very satisfactory clearing sale of dairy cows, etc., on account Mr Jaraes Forsyth, Edendale, yesterday. The bidding in all cases was spirited, and good cows brought topping prices.' The whole line averaged £5 16s Gil, and we must add that, as Jthe prices obtained will show, the cows did credit^tp Mr Forsyth. There were buyers present" from all partej anda great many were ' unable to get as iijflny cows as they required. The followltig ttfß a tevi of the prices realised : 1 cow £8 §si 3 jsbwa £8 2s 6d, 1 cow £7 ISs, 1 cow £7 12s .6d, 1 cow £7 7s Gd, G cows £7 ss, 5 cows £7, 3 cows £G Ids, and the balance from £3 10s upwards; 1 two-year-old heifer £3. 10s ; 7 two-year-old heifers, £3 ss ; 6 yearling heifers £2" 2s 6d ; 1 bull £3, 2 bulls, £3 ss, 1 buli £4. We also offered the implements, etc., the principal prices being : 1 Cambridge roller £11 ss, 1 seed sower, £6 ; 1 set harrows £2 12s Gd ; 1 dray, £5 10s ; 1 buggy, £20 : harness, £4 Ss ; and sundry other articles at very satisfactory prices. . . ' ;V We might state that any dairyman wanting really good cows would do well to look us up, as we have some first-class herds for sale."
