Competition for the better better classes was good but inferior sorts were not so readily placed. Good beef was worth 20s per 1001 b. Best heavy bullocks, £8 to £9 ; medium, £6 10s to to £7 15s ; best cows and heifers, £G -to £7 ; medium, £4 10s to £5 10s ; others, : £2 10s to £3 10s. Fat Sheep — 1814 penned, two-thirds being wethers. The demand was keen, and a rise of Gd to Is per head was noticeable.
