Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale on Monday : — Oats — Our catalogue was made up of Danish and medium short feed, with a few lines good to prime. The attendance of buyers was small, but the bulk of the catalogue was cleared at quotations. We quote: Prime milling, Is lljd to 2s ; good to best feed, Is lOJd to Is lid ; medium, Is 8d to Is 9Jd per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat— Prime milling is in fair demand at quotations ; medium not in request, and fowl wheat saleable at late values. We quote: Prime milling, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; medium, 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; fowl wheat, whole 2s to 2s Id, broken and damaged, Is 9d to Is lid per bushel (sacks in). Potatoes — The market is poorly supplied, and prices have shown some improvement. Best Derwents are worth £2 15s to £3 ; others, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d per ton (sacks in). Chaff — We catalogued a few trucks, which met with good competition. Best old oaten sheaf sold at £3 Ss to £3 10s ; new at £2 17s 6d to £3 per ton (bags extra).
