Messrs Wbight, Stephenson and Co. report as follows : — We held our fortnightly stock sale at the Wallacetown yards on Tuesday. The day was rough, snow falling almost all the time. Buyers were present in good numbers, andthere was an exceptionally large entry of fat sheep, the yards being almost completely filled. Prices, compared with those ruling kst wile, continue steady for prime beef, but fat sheep, owing to the large supply, showed a slight decline on late rates. Fat Cattle,™ 51 yarded. Prime heavy bullocks, £8 to £9} jgood, £6 10s to £7 10s; light and inferior, £4 2s 6d to £5 10s ; cows and heifers, one extra heavy, £7 10s ; good, £5 to £5 15s ; small and inferior, £3 7s tidto £4 10s. Fat Sheep.— -2526 penned. Best -vyetlws. 13s to 13s 9d— one extra heavy lot, 14s 6d ; good medium weights, 10s to 12s ; light or small, 8s to 9s tid ; prime heavy ewes (in good demand), 10s to lls 6d ; lighter, 8s 3d to 9s 4d ; inferior, 6s 6d to 7s sd. Of store cattle and sheep there were practically ao entries.
