The Pukerau club played their first inter-club match on Monday, 9th November. The match was played at Clinton under most unfavorable circumstances, a steady rain falling during play. During the afternoon the Clinton Brass Band played several selections under the able conductorship of Mr Laing. Pukerau returned victorious, averting a drawn game by taking Clinton's last batsman in the last available over. The visitors were well entertained, being placed under the superintendence of Host Coughlan. Appended arc the scores :— PUKERAU. J. Docker, b Hitchie . . . . 2 W. H. Purvis, b Irving . . . . 5 J.
