9. INVEROARGILL MARKETS. The J. G. Ward Faemebs' ASaooiATioN report having held their fortnightly *stock sale at the lovercargill yards on Tuesday. . Fat Oattle — Entry only madinm, and comprised several pens of very ordinary quality. They proved, however, to be quite equal to requirements, a few pens being passed unsold. For best bullocks (medium' weights) prices ranged from L 6 10s to L 7 10s ; cows and heifers, L 6 10s to L 7 for best ; light sorts, IS 10d .to L 6 15s. Store Cattle— A large entry and fair de'mind. Privately and by auction rwe sold close on 100 head at fairly satisfactory prices : 30 forward steers at L 4 10s ; 20 yearlings at 46a ; 12 at 40] ;10 at 36a ; and other young cattle at same rates. Dairy cows wo sold at up to L 5 for best Borts, medium and old stagers at 40s to 60s ; fairly well bred shorthorn heifera at L 6 5s for breeding purposes. Sheep — Only a small entry, for which there was good demand, good youn? sheep (mixed sexes) bringing lls to lls ii ; ewes, 8), 93 Id, 10s 3d, 10a 6d, 10s 7d and 10i lOd, and aged ewes with lambs ss, all counted. - Store Sheep— Very faw forward. We sold hoggets (small) up to 8s 6d. Horse Market— On Saturday we had a I fair entry, but values are without change, and the demand limited ; only good, young draught sorts can bs placed at value.
