Fatal Accident at Wilson's River.
•» A young man named George Gray Porter lost his life at Wilson's River on the 3rd ult. The deceased was engaged in sluicing operations on the facß of a terrace when a fall of earth (mostly gravel) of about four tons came down on top of him. His mate, Barnes, who was at hand, immediately set to work and extricated deceased from bis perilous position. Barnes then went for assistance, but on his return to the scene of the accident, Porter was unconscious, and only lived five minutes. The minors made a coffin out of sluice boxes, and buried the body of the unfortunate man in the vicinity. Deceased, who was a son of Mr D. Porter, of Pukarau, was much respected on the goldfields, and great sorrow was expressed at bis untimely end,
