THE BALFOUR TRAGEDY,
XO THE EDITOR. Slß,— Mrs Stewart may be anxious to let the public know how she has been treated by a wealthy firm like Beid and Gray, who send her a cheque for L 25 only, to help her as now a widow. But Bhe has no right before the trial, to prejudice the public by publishing the assurance of Beid and Gray that her late husband " was performing a duty devolving upon bim as a public servant for the time being." ■ According to the published account, after the bailiffs seized the horses, they again let them loose and left the farm, and thereafter went there again under cloud of night and were chased off the place— as trespassers 1 When Beid and Gray's solicitor sent them baok next day, ware they public servants 1 Had they any right 1 Tba triaj will deoide, and before then it' is not fair to publish small donations and cheap sympathy. Yours, etc., I?AIK PIAY.
