«. Friday, Jult 26. The Board met at the usual honr. Present : Messrs GilcUrist (chairman), Syme, Nichol, Robertson, Key, Calder, Peter, Dickson, and Kirk. COERESrONDENCE was received, and ordered to be attended to, and it was decided to procure L8 worth of poisoned grain. ESTIMATES. The clerk submitted the following approximate statement : —

Theproposed allocations were reviewed, and in some cases varied. In Waikaka subdivision; the sum of L5 was deducted from proposed expenditure on the Gold Creek and Terrace road, the amount for Boag's road was raised to LlO and for the Terrace road near Kirk's to Llo, while the vote for Knapdalo low road was reduced to LlO, and the County Council asked to subsidise works to the same amount. In Cbatton bo alterations were made; This subdivision gives LlO towards the terrace road byCruickshank'.*, which is in Waikaka subdivision, but used to a large extent by Chatlon ratepayore. In Otama subdivision, L3 was lopped off the vote for Orombie's road. The allocations thus amended were approved, MISCELLANEOUS. Messrs Robertson and Dillon waited on the Board regarding road to their properties. Mr Dillon was willing to grant the necessary land free, and it was decided that the Inspector interview Mrs Baxter through whose land also the road would go, and report at next meeting. It was agreed to leave parcels of poisoned grain at Messrs Peters' (Chatton), Grants' (Waikaka Vallej), and Robertson's (Waikaka.) It was decided that Waddell's bridge should be inspfcted before any money was voted. Sufficient funds were in hand for the work, and the matter will come up at next meeting.
