Ally 'The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886.' " 2. That a Meeticg of tbe said Borough Council will be held at the said Council Chambers on MONDAY, tbe third day of June next, at 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of Confirming the said Resolution, "To adopt GENEBALLY 'The Looal Bodies Loana Act, 1886.' In the matter of "The Works Act, 1894," and in the matter of the Construction of a Traffic Bridge over the Mataura River at ti®re. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a WABBANT, in terms of the abovementioned Act, was issued on the 28th day of March last, by the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, AUTHORISING the Borough Council of Gore to CONSTRUCT a BRIDGE over the Mataura Biver at Gore, aad APPORTIONING tbe COST of the said Bridge between the said Council and the Southland County Council, such Warrant being in the words and figures following, namely :— GLASGOW, Governor, Whereas by section one hundred and thirteen of "The Public Works Aot, 1894" (hereinafter termed *' tbe said Act "), it is, inter alia, enacted that, in any case where the local authority of any district desires to construct a bridge in any position that will, in its opinion, be of advantage and benefit to the whole or any considerable portion of the inhabitants, of an adjacent district or districts, as well as to the inhabitants of its own district, and where it is, in the opinion of such local authority, reasonable that the looal authority or local authorities of each district or districts whose inhabitants are to be so benefited should contribute to tbe cost of constructing or establishing the raid bridge, tbe provisions in the said section mentioned ehall have effect : And whereas the Borough Council of Gore, being desirous of construct* ing tha work mentioned in the Schedule hereto, under the provisions of the said Act, prepared plans, specifications, and estimates of the woik of constructing the said work, and sent a copy of same to tbe office of the Southland County Oouncil, and to the Minister for Public Works, together with a notice from v the said Council to the said Board, as required by tbe provisions of section one hundred and thirteen of the said Act : And whereas the County Council of Southland having lodged an objection to the said work being constructed, a Commissioner was appointed to inquire into snd report on the matter, in termß of the said Act: And whereas the aforesaid Commissioner has reported that he is ot opinion thit the said work should be constructed by the Borough Council of Gore, and that the cost of con* structing the said work, lem a contribution by Government of tbe sum of one thousand pounds, should be borne proportionately by the Borough Council of Gore and tbe County Council of Southland. Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and anthority vested in me by the said Aot, do hereby authorise the Borough Council of Gore to construct the said work; and I do hereby declare that the coßt of constructing the said work, lees the contribution of one thousand pounds aforesaid, shall be borne by the Borough Council of Gore and the Southland County Council in equal proportions — namely, one- half by the Borough Oouncil of Gore, and onehalf by the Southland County Council, SCHEDULE. That bridge over the Mataura River, m the Borough of Gore, situated at a site about 4 chains above the railway bridge, and in continuatija of Medway street, as tbe said site is delineated and marked A upon a plan marked S.G. 20916, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District;, and thereon colored red.
