LAND BOARD MEETING.

OTAGO— Feb. 9. A letter was read from Messrs Harvey, Meikle, and others, asking that sections 21 and 25, block X, Tuturau, be thrown open for settlement on deferred payments, and section 26 of that block as pastoral land. — Referred to Ranger Hughan for report. The Board was requested to deal with t v e following licensees who are two payments in arrear : — Hector Fraser, license 535, Run 2b; William Walker, license 526, a ection Waikaia; and Ward Robinson, license 475, Run 457. — It was decided that notice should be inserted in the Gazette as required by the Act. • The following applications to complete purchase were approved : — Daniel Andrew, section 2, block XIV, Waipabi ; Grace Andrew, section 3, block IV, ditto. A letter was received from the Secretary of the Otago School Commissioners intimating that the Commissioners were desirous of leasing section 27, block VII, Wyndbani ; and section 5, block I, Mokoreta district, at present open for sale as land of special value, and asking that these sections be withdrawn from sale. — Land withdrawn accordingly. The Board postponed for a week the consideration of a letter from Mr V. Pyke, M.H.R., writing on behalf of the School Commissioners' tenants at Wendon ; urging that they cannot pay , the whole of their rent due at once ; that they cannot continue to pay the present excessive rentals ; that they have expended all their capital in improving their lands, and offering to pay at six, 18, or 30 months from Ist January, and to give security for the suggested agreement being carried out.
