Drunkenness. A first offender pleaded guilty to this offence at the Police Court yesterday morning, and the presiding justice (Mr J. M. Hutcheson), fined him Gs and 2s costs, with the usual alternative.

R M. Court Another charge of fraud will be preferred against Alfred Hogg at the R M Court thL morning at 10 o’clock, before Mr J. Allen, R.M. Excelsior Cricket Club— This club is now fairly under weigh and we hope soon to see it well to the fore. . Sudden Death. —A painfully sudden death W>k place some time yesterday morning at Grovo Road, when Annie Hammond, wife of William Hammond, was found dead in bed. She retired to rest about nine o’clock the previous even* ing apparently iti about her usual state of health, which has not been good for some lime past.
