At Kaiapoi to-day, the jury, at an inquest, returned a verdict that in their opinion the child of Jane Morris was born alive and had separaie existence, and that death was caused by suffocation arising through want of proper assistance at the time of birth and neglect of the mother in not obtaining help. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
