Two thousand five hundred firemen, representing the whole of the colonies, commenced a four days’ carnival to-day. The warehouse of Messrs Gully and Loveday, situated at Casino, on Richmond River, was destroyed by fire to-day. The damage is estimated at £7OOO.

A successful trial was made today of the electric tram car. Further trials Avill be made shortly.
