(Per Press Association). Wellington, March 1. The Customs’ returns for the colony for the last month, the eleventh of the financial year, are now completed. The totals of the month’s duties, L 106,003 3s lid, was made up by smaller ports. The estimated monthly average of the Customs’ duties for the year was £101,160 13s -Id. This, for eleven months, would amount to Ll 3-5,833, whereas_the amount actually collected was L 157,73-1, or £11,950 above the estimate. The beer duty collected last month amounted to L-1631, 2s Gd, the four principal cities contributing as follows ' ellington, LfOO 17s Id ; Auckland, L 939 3s 2d : Christchurch. L9G7 3s lOd : and Dunedin, £lO7-5 7s Sd For the eleven mouth*, the total amount of beer duty collected was L 17,312, or 1,2148 below the. average estimate for that period, which was estimated at IHO.oOO,
