For a saddle; minimum weight Bst; twice round the course; entrance, ss. 6 TROTTING RACE.—Distance, four times round the courso, for o sovs. entrance, ss. 7 HAVELOCK CUP.—Handicap race for 20 sovs ; distance about 2 miles ; second horse to savo his stakes; nomination 10s, acceptance 10s. 8 HACK RACE.—For a saddle; only untrained horses that have never, won public money; minimum weight; Bst; entrance, 5s ; twice round the course. _ „ „ y CONSOLATION HANDICAP of 8 sovs.—Twice round tho courso ; for all horses that have contested in the previous races and have not won public money; horses to bo named immediately after the running of tho Havelock Cup ; entrance, 8s; second horse to save his stakes. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will he received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, their decision on all points connected with carrying out this Programme to be final. Any person entering a protest shall deposit with the Secretary £2 2s, and this sum shall he absolutely forfeited to the Pelorus Jockey fund if the Stewards find such protest was a frivolous one. No person allowed to enter a horse unless a subscriber of one pound to the race fund. All nominations to he accompanied by fees, name, age and description of Horse, and Colors of riders must be in the hands of the Secretary not later than 5 p.in. on tho i 4th of January, 1888. Weights to ho declared on Monday, 23rd of January. Acceptances close on Friday, 4th of February, 1888, at 5 p.m. Three horses to accept, or no race. District horse shall mean any horse that has been resident in the Pelorus Riding xor three consecutive months previous to the race meeting and owned by a person who has resided in the said riding during the same period. Any jockey riding except in tho Colors entered will be fined £2. Horses for the Maiden Hurdles to bo at the Post at 11 a.in. sharp.
