THE CUSTOMS FRAUDS HEAVY FINES. Per Electric Telegraph - Copyright Router’s Telegrams. Melbourne, Wednesday Actions havo boon instituted against Messrs Gillespie, Aitkin, Scott and Co of Melbourne, and Messrs Rickman and Co of Echuca, by the Commissioner of Customs, iu connection with tho importation of a quantity of roller milling machinery which has boon grossly undervalued, with tho object of defrauding the revcuuo. Messrs Gillespie, Aitkon, Scott and Co were lined £1,500, and Messrs Rickman and Co £750, although tlio Commissioners blamed : tho English consignors, and acquitted tho local firms of any intontion of defrauding.
