Return of Mr J. C. Brown, M.H.R.
Per Press Association. Auckland, Dec 10. Mr J. 0. Brown, ef Otago, who returned from England to-day, has informed a reporter that while in England he made a searching inspection nto the cona tion of the froxen meat trade, and he has arrived at the conclusion that wl 'le it is conducted on the present lines it will never pay. Pie reckons that all the profits are swafiowe 1 up by the agents and middlemen, who sell to dealers cp-'te irrespective of such paltry consideratiw s as the price they obtain. A ll they want is sufficient payment themselves. Mr Brown has entered into an arrangement for the establishment of agencies : n the colony to purchase approved meat for two or three veers at a fixed rate, at l|d, free c l boe’-'u.
