THE GRAIN AND WOOL MARKETS,

The wheat market is quiet, but prices are stable. American rates are relatively dearer. The supply has been augmented by two million bushels. The quantity for export has increased. The German duty on wheat has been raised to 13s, and on flour to lGs 9d. Quotations for Australian and Gorman shipments are unchanged. A November shipment has been sold at 34s 3d, but moro is asked for January cargoes. At the wool sales during the past few days there has been increased animation in business, and a general rise of -gd per lb took place. Australian and Cape best greasy sometimes showed an advance of id. The advance in scoured sorts was loss marked. The number catalogued for the series was 101,000 bales, of which 8000 were withdrawn.
Reuter’s Telegrams. Received Dec 6, 10 40 p.m. London, Dec 5. Zew Zealand four per cent inscribed stock was quoted to-day at £9G 10s, being an advance of £2. Wool.—At to-day’s sales catalogue comprising some 10,000 bales was submitted to auction. Recent advances were firmly maintained.
