Received Dec G, at 10.50 p.m Melbourne, Tuesday,
Nows lias boon reoeivod here by cable of the doath of liarcm Hawke, father of Mr M. Hawke, who is at present playing with Vernon’s team of English cricketers. The Melbourne cricket club forwarded a tologram to Mr Hawke (who succeeds to the titlo), tendering thoir condolences, and offering to release him from his Australian engagements.
