An interesting breach of promise is on tho tapis, tho plaintiff being a well-known hostess of Wellington and Auckland, who claims 1/2000 from the defendant, formerly a timber merchant of Wellington as compensation for her blighted aflections. Inc latter was also a resident at Auckland for a time. ________
