A MEETINC OE N.S. WALES PARLIAMENT J‘rr Elrelrie Telegraph — Cop//right K BUT Kit's TKLEGKA.MS. Deceived Sept. 20, at <‘3.20 p.m. Svonkv, Tuesday. Parliament was opened to-day. The Governor's Speech stated that the two principal measures of the session would be Local Government and Land Hills, the latter providing greater facilities for tho acquisition of freehold homes by the humbler classes. Pills would also bo iutrotrodueed in regard to .Pailway Management, the establishment of Model farms and Agricultural colleges for a more equitable distribution of the burdens of taxation. The Speech announced that the revenue was being well sustained and tli it the prospects of the Colony were full of Jiope. The sanction of Parliament would be asked to the agreement arrived at by tho Imperial Conference in regard to the Naval defences, material changes ill (he present military organisation would be submitted and, conjointly with other Colonics, tho establishment of a military College for the manufacture of gunpowder and the munitions of war was contemplated
