Education Office, Blenheim, September 10th. 1887. Nelson, Sept. 12, 1887. 0. H. Mills, Esq., SIR, —In my address to the electors at Picton, I said that “I had been informed that Mr Mills’ management of the affairs of that Board had been so unsatisfactory that they had dispensed with his services.” I have no hesitation in offering my sincere apology for having assisted in spreading a report, which I had heard when on a prior visit to Havelock, but which I now find to bo incorrect. The origin of this report must, I presume, be traced to the fact that the Board had advertised for applications to fill the office of Secretary, but the resolution of the Board lately published has shown me that quite a wrong interpretation had been put upon that fact, and as I have said, I groatly rogret having contributed to spreading it. I am, Sir, Yours Obediently, A. P. SEYMOUR,
