CONQUEROR is a bright bay, now 10 years old, standing 17 bands high, bone of unequalled quality, immense muscular power splendid action, and most docile temper He was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of her celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Empero', out of the pure Clydesdale mare Kate (imported by the late Mr James Strachan). Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes, and is got by the renowned Napoleon (imported by Mr J. Nimmo). Napoleon. by George Buchamuijs Emperor, oot of Nancy, bred by Alexander Finlay, jfq. Nandyhills, near Glasgow, Nancy by.the celebrated Garnary horse ; her dam is Seotman. Conqueror took the first prize as a two-year-old tit the Bluest in Show, 1870 anti second prize for ail comers and agid horsts at the same show ; and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a three-year-old in a field of nine compel i. tors. At five years old he took first prize at Tiruaru, 1879, and special prize of 12 guineas as a colonial-bred horse to stand in the district that season. Second prize at Wanganui. 1889, against all comers ; the first prize at Patea same year against the same horse that took fust prize at Wanganui. First prize at Taranaki, 1881. Conqueror’s stock are allowed by com petent judges to be the best ever bred in this Colony: having plenty of size, abundance of hair and bone, and hocks of unexceptional quality, combined with general symmetty. LOUIS D’Or is a chestnut Ilorse g years old standing over 16 hands hit’ll with great power and is by that celebrated horse TRADUCER, sire fo Lurliue, Calumny, Templeton, Sir Modred and a host of well known winners out of the imported mare Rupee, (late Half I Crown). Rupee is by Dollar, the best son of the Flying Dutchman winner of the Derby and St. Ledger of 1849. Dollar won the Northamptonshire Stakes and Goodwood Cup in 1864, and is the sire of Salvator, winner of the Grand Prix de Paris in 1875 Salvator was the sire ot the sire of the Duke of Hamilton’s OsaiaD, which won the St. Ledger, 1883, and ran second in the Goodwood Cup in 1884, Louis D’Or received first honors three years in succession as the bert thoroughbred entire at the Marlborough Agricultural Show, and ran second to Crip in the C. J.C. Handicap when a three year old. Minnouclie dam of Rupee is by ihe Baron, sire of Stockwell and Rataplan. Louis D’Or will visit Havelock on Mondays (weather permitting); at Spring Creek, on Tuesdays ; Blenheim, Wednesdays and Saturdays ; Picton., Fridays ; at our stables Thursdays.
