THE WOOL BALEB. (SHECIAL TO UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION) London, Deo, 4. Wool. —Fifty thousand bales have been catalogued, and ten thousand withdrawn. The market is irregular, and prices are receding, greasy, $d to Id ; scoured, sd;to lid ; faulty, Si to 2£ below September closing rates. Crossbreds average a Id reduction. Competition with the new clip is better, and there are only nominal reductions in the finer sorts. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oompany, Limited, have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 3rd instant : Wool.— Since the opening of the sales scoured merino and scoured fine crossbred have declined Id per ft j scoured crossbred has also declined id to Id per 1 . Longstaqie merino, greasy, of the new clip, is in demand. , Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. have received the following cable message from 1 their London representatives, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co : London, Dec, 4. The market continues rery weak, and shows a downward tendeocy ; 22 percent of the wool offered has been bought in. Scoured merino is selling at prices equal to those of the third series THE LONDON MARKET. London, Dec 4. Wheat has further advanced 6d on the spot; and Is on arrival of cargo. The Australian Februsry-March shipment sold at 36s 6d, Flour is rising ; superfine quality is 25a to 265. THF WELLINGTON MARKET. Messrs Leary aud Campbell report produce as follows: —Apple*, lOs to 15s j oranges, 7* 6d to 10s ; mandarins, 12s ; lemons,los ; a large consignment of pines, coooanuts, and peanuts arrived from Fiji on Monday, and sold readily at Si, He, and 3d respectively. Wheat, maize, oats, and barley remain at last quotation*, and sales are only for,hand to.mouth lots. The same remarks apply to brau and pollard. Old potatoes are done, and the new crop is coming in freely, and realising from 5s 6d to 7s per cwt. Onions are scarce at LU. Eggs, lOd. Freßh and salt butter, with a glutted market, unquotable.
