The Mercantile Marine Conference has been adjourned for a month pending a settlement of questions which the employees have agreed to submit to arbitration. VICTORIAN REVENUE. Melbourne, Opt. 1. The revenue of this Colony during the quarter ended yesterday amounted to 1^1,550,000, an in* crease of L 112.000 as compared with Sept, quarter last year, but L 90,000 below the quarter’s proportion of the Treasurer’s estimate for the current year. THE MAURITIUS SUGAR CROP. Received Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. Adelaide, Oct. 1. Arrived, this morning, the Messageries Maritime Steamship Coy’s Sydney from Marseilles. She brings Mauritius news to the 16th Sept. Ireland, Fraser and Coy’s circular, dated August 30th, reports that the Bugar crushing has commenced and that the estimated yield is Bet down at from 105,000 to 110,000 tons. S.A, REVENUE RETURNS. Received Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. Adelaide, Oct. 1. The South Australian revenue for past quarter amounted to L 408,000, a decrease of L 122.000 as compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. In the ’House of Assembly last night the proposals submitted by the Government to amend the Land Act in order to cover the deficiency in the revenue were rejected.
