OAK GROVE is a blood bay horse with black points. sight years old stand* 16 $ hand*, high, of splendid bone, temper and symmetrical proportions, being considered by competent judges to be one of the best ciriiage horses ever imported to this Colony. He was broughtlfrom America by John Kerr, Esq., M.H.R. four years ago and has since that time left an excellent recurd in the districts in which he has travelled. His progeny at an early age distinctly show the gait and pace peculiar to (he American Trotter whose ancestors for generations have been trained on 1 the " track.” OAK GROVE is a son of the celebrated Trotting Stallion " Irvington,” whose performances are familiar to ail breeders in the Colony, His dam “Druidess” bred on the OAK GUOVEEstate and in her day was one of the fastest mares in the States. Oak Grove is a fast Trotter, hss a graceful and elegant style of of action and was specially selected by theimponer to put witk the valuable American mares introduced into the colony at the same time. OAK GROVE will travel in the Spring Creek, Tua Marina, Wairan West; and Renwick Town districts. Mares from outside places must be sent in. for which good paddocks are provided at Is 6d per week, every care taken but no responsibili.y. Terms : 50s per mare, groomage fre 5s to be paid at time of first service. All fees to be paid by Ist January, 1887. from Awatere, Flaxbourne, Kekerangu and Southern Districts for this horse will be brought to Blenheim by Mr W. J. CONQUEROR is a bright bay, now 10 years old, standing 17 hands high, bone of unequalled quality, immense musculir power splendid action, and most docile temper He was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieii, out of her celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Empero*, out of the pure Clydesdale mare Kate (imported by the late Mr James Strachan). Emperor has gained three first and three secood prizes, and i« got by the renowned Napoleon (imported by Mr J. Nimmo). Napoleon. by Giorge Buchananjs Emperor, out of Nancy, bred by Alexander Finlay, Esq. Sandyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary horse ; her dam is Scotman. Conqueror took the first prize as a two-year.old at the Blueskin Show, 1876 and second ptiz 1 for all comers ai d ag. d horstß at the same show ; and at Oamaru the following year took seconl priza as a thrte-year-old io a field of nine compati tors.. At five years old he took first prize at Timnru, 1879, and special prize of 12. guineas »s a colonial-bred horse to stand in the district that season. Second prize at Wanganui, 1880, against all comers ; the first prize at Patea same year against the same horse that took tii st.prize at Wanganui. First prize at Taranaki, 1881. LOUIS D’Or is a chestnut Horse q years old standing over 16 bands high with great power and is by that celebrated horse TRADUCER. sire fo Lurline, Calumny, Templeton, Sir Modred and a host of well known winners out of the imported mare Rupee, (late Half Crown). Rupee is by Dollar, the best son of the Flying Dutchman winner of the Derby and St. Ledger of 1849. Dollar won the Noithamptonshire Stakes and Goodwood Cup in 1864, and is the sire of Salvator, winner of the Grand Prix de Paris in 1875 Salvator was the sire of the sire of the Duke of Hamilton’s Oasian, which won the St, Ledger, 188.3, and ran second in the Goodwood Cup in 1884, Louis P’Or received first honors three years in succession as’ ‘ the best thoroughbred entire at the Marlborough Agricultural Show, and ran eegond to Grip in-the C. J.C, Handicap when * three year old, Mjnnouche dam of Rupee is by the Baron, sire of Stockwell and Rataplan. Louis D’Or will visit Havelocfc on Mondays (weather permitting)* at Spring Creek, on Tuesdays ; Blenheim; Wednesdays and Saturdays ; Picton, Fridays ; at our stables Thur«days.
