CABLE. [B K FT Kirs Tklkg hams. ] LONDON. February 21. In the House of Commons this evening Gladstone made a speech regarding the case of Brad laugh. The Premier stated that lie considered the conduct of that gentleman was scandalous and he declined to lead the House in any action which should be taken regarding Bracllaugh. Several abortive motions followed, and in the course of their discussion Mr Bradlaugh entered the Chamber, but was ordered by the Speaker to withdraw, and ho did so. Finally Sir Stafford North cote moved, and Mr Gladstone supported the resolution, “ That Mr Bradlaugh should be expelled from the House.” After a brief debate the motion was carried. J. E. Hutcheson, publican, was fined £2O for not defacing the stamp. Alexander Henderson, drayman at the Yietorian Brewery, whose duty it was to affix stamps and who pleaded forgetfulness, was fined £5 for aiding in the removal of such casks, and in another case £lO for having drawn beer from the cask before having defaced the stamp thereon. An inquest was held on the children burnt in Bisehefk’s house last Tuesday. No new facts were elicited, and a verdict “accidental death ” was returned. Mrs Bischefk is improving in the hospital.
