MATAMATA CLUB Tee Shot Holed Members of the Matamata Golf Club played an 18-hole medal handicap match on Saturday, the winner being W. Davidson with a score of 67 nett. F. Montague was runner-up with 69 nett. Mentiplay Holes in One The sensation of the afternoon was the performance of “ holing in one ” by R. R. Mentiplay. Playing in the Old Parr Cup competition against C. Irvine, Mentiplay holed his tee shot at the third hole amid a great shout from a fair “gallery” which happened to be in the vicinity. The customary honours were accorded with more than the usual gusto in view of these circumstances.
