CALF JUDGING List of Winners The Okoroire School Calf Club held its first annual judging in the school grounds on Thursday, December 10, before a representative gatnering of parents and friends of the children. Mr. H. Bellamy (chairman) welcomed the visitors, thanking them for their support and encouragement. , '* The secretary gave the first annual report. > Mr. Philpot (headmaster) spoke of the children’s keenness and enthusiasim. Mr. McK. Peffers, of “ Gowanbrae,” Putaruru, officiated as judge, and gave his awards as follows: —- First Prize, valued at £1 Is, and miniature silver Gill Cup. —Keith Whaiapu. Second Prize, valued at 15s. — Olive Bellamy. Third Prize, valued at 10s.— Gilbert Bellamy. All competitors qualified for certificates of merit. . .r; Mr. Peffers gave a short but interesting lecture and demonstration to the children, after which a children’s judging competition was held. Three children, viz., Olive Sutcliffe, Gilbert Bellamy and Mario Martelletti, tied for first place and received suitable prizes. * Mrs. H. Bellamy graciously presented the prizes and ribbons to the v/inners. Mr. Cliffe Martin proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Bellamy and Mr. Peffers.
