CAR FALLS INTO RAVINE
OCCUPANTS’ NARROW ESCAPE Mrs. J. R. Pickering and Miss D. Pickering, late of Matamata, had a remarkable escape from injury when their motor-car left the road on Mount Messenger on Tuesday and plunged headlong through the scrub and down a ravine 150 feet deep. The occupants escaped with a shaking, and the motor-car was little damaged. It was fortunate that the car did not overturn. The vehicle ploughed through light bush until it stopped in a small gully. Not even the headlamps were broken.
