GIFT AFTERNOON A gift afternoon . in, connection with the Anglican Church bazaar was held recently at . the residence; of . Mrs.,; M- EA: Hollis at Okauia. There were 20 people present. .A number of gifts and a sum of money were received for bazaar funds. Competitions were held during the afternoon, the winners being Mrs. Sexton and Mrs. S.' Ellery. INSTITUTE DANCE AT ATIHOA The Taihoa Women’s Institute held a successful dance recently, a good attendance being present from Taihoa and surrounding districts. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion. Mrs. Malligan and Mrs. Cotter supplied the 'music, and Mr. V. Anderson was M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss M. St. Clair and Mr. A. Gray, of Brookby. The evening took the' form of games, dancing, and competi tions. The music, which was greatly appreciated by all, was supplied by Mr. C. Fleming. Prior to supper Miss Maxwell was called upon to open her many, marcels, which contained a large and varied number of useful gifts. Miss Maxwell, in a neat speech, thanked her friends, and was accorded musical ; honours.
