MORRINSVILtE PRICES A keener demand for all classes of stock was evidenced at the Morrinsville sales on Friday. Advanced prices were recorded for choice dairy cattle, store pigs and second quality cattle. The auctioneers quote as follows: — FARMERS’ AUCTIONEERING CO. There was only a small yarding of fat pigs, but competition was good, and late advanced rates were easily maintained. A fair entry of stores and weaners met with keen competition, and in this section an improvement in values is to be noted. A medium entry of fat and store sheep came forward, the entry including a truck of prime wethers for which there was keen competition, the line changing hands at from 29 s to 30s 9d. The entry of breeding ewes from Gisborne attracted a good inquiry, and Last week’s advanced rates were realised. No ox beef was yarded, but cow and heifer beef again came forward in full numbers with only a small proportion of finished cattle, these being in keen demand. Second quality cattle were also penned in heavy numbers, and this class of cattle showed an improvement in price. Boners showed no alteration. A few pens of store steers and young cattle sold under good competition. Competition came freely from a full bench of buyers of dairy cattle, and values for the good yarding offered were in advance of recent sales. Choice heifers close to profit sold exceptionally well. Prices for Breeding Pigs The advertised entry of pedigree Tamworth pigs on account of Mr. Wardrop, of Tauranga, were keenly sought after by buyers from all parts of the district, and a very satisfactory sale resulted. The top price was 13 guineas for the sow Ldsmore Lady Regime and a litter of seven (by Lismore Tarawera Star). Two maiden- sows made 12 guineas each. These three were purchased by Mr. J.
