WiATAMATA Dairy Cows Up to £l3 There was a good yarding of sheep and cattle at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Matamata sale on Wednesday. The sheep comprised mostly lambs, which sold at late rates, as did the fat and store cattle. A small entry of pigs met with spirited competition and values for all classes improved. A good yarding of dairy cattle came forward, including the advertised herd of Mr. L. L. Cubis and Mr. C. Slater, which were yarded in good condition. Competition was keen and spirited throughout and values showed a marked improvement on late ruling rates. An average of £8 5s was obtained for Mr. Slater’s herd of 46, and of £6 5s for the whole herd of Mr. Cubis. Cattle. — Fat steers, £7 12s 6d to £8 11s. Prime fat cows, £5 18s.
