ON THE SCREEN
MATAMATA REGENT Lovers of old-time songs and those whose memories can go back to 40 years ago will revel in the entertainment presented in “My Old 'Dutch,” coming to the Regent tonight (Thursday) and Friday. The film, which is based on Albert Chevalier’s immortal song, is replete with many music hall favourites of that period. . Betty Balfour, Gordon ’-Barker and Michael Hagan are in the leading roles. On the programme will be seen “ Looking for Trouble,” a very fine comedy-ro-mance featuring Spencer Tracy, ■Jack Oakie and Constance Cummings.
Rarely indeed are picturegoers •given the opportunity of enjoying 'such an entertainment-studded production as the Australian comedy, Grandad Rudd,” .which is showing •at the Regent this Saturday and •Monday. Founded on the famous series of Steele Rudd stories, centred around the big-hearted Rudd •family, it is literally crammed full of .laughs. This is entirely different in settings from “On Our Selection,” in which the Rudds were shown in humble circumstances.
