Doris Hall, aged 16 years, a pupil at the Matamata District High School, has passed the English stage 1 examination, which, with other passes, gives her the first section in the B.A. examination. She has also completed her Training College entrance examination. Len Goodwill passed in economics and bookkeeping 1., which gives him the first section of the accountants’ professional examination. In our first January issue will be published an interview with Mr. Basil Orr, the well-known Morrinsville farmer and grazier, who recently returned from a five months’ trip to England, Scotland and America. Apart from the portion devoted to private business, Mr. Orr spent most of his time on farms or at stock sales and shows. Having an excellent knowledge of stock prices in Waikato the comparison made by Mr. Orr is most illuminating, while Scotsmen will thrill with pride at the visitor’s summing up of farmers.
