PUTARURU v. ROCKY DOWNS. On Saturday Putaruru played a match with Rocky Downs and were beaten by 15 matches to 3, while two matches were all square. Results were as follow, Rocky Downs players being mentioned first:— Ladies. —Miss E. Johnston and Miss Wallis, all square ; Miss O’Hara beat Mrs. Barnett, 2 up ; Miss M. Montague beat Mrs. Smith, 1 up ; Mrs. Johnstone beat Mrs. Rainger, 4 and 2 ; Mrs. Lambourne beat Mrs. Murphy, 1 up : Mrs. Underwood beat Mrs. McKenzie, 4 and 3 ,* Mrs. Keeley beat Miss Barnett, 4 and 2 ; Mrs. Mentiplay beat Miss Coupe, 4 and 3.

Men.—Hutchison beat Marchbanks, 3 and 2 ; Little beat Rolfe, 2 and 1 ; Corbett beat Allison, 3 and 2 ; Keeley beat Murphy, 2 and 1 ; Stevens lost to Barnett, 1 up ; Mentiplay lost to Tomalin, 1 up ; Wallace beat Bailey, 3 and 2 ; Alquist beat Rabone, 3 and 1 ; Cummings and Whyte, all square ; Thomson beat Morse, 1 up ; Bluck lost to Lindsay, 3 and 2 ; Woodhouse beat Gordon, 4 and 2.

ROCKY DOWNS CLUB.

Owing to the wet afternoon on Saturday the four-ball best-ball bogey match, senior and junior paired,, was abandoned after nine holes had been played. Corbett and Thomson, Mentiplay and Ryan, Little and Ferguson, all 2 up, were leading at the time. Next Saturday an 18-hole bogey match will be played in conjunction with the second round of the Glenfarne Cup. The draw is : Bluck v. Buckley, Keeley v. Dodds,' Little v. Ryan, Fitzgerald v. Johnston, Woodhouse v. Mentiplay, Cottle v. Wallace, Chappell v. Alquist, Corbett v. Hutchison, Thomson v. Ferguson, Stevens v. Taylor, Butler v. Cummings, Casey v. Hay.

OKOROIRE CLUB.

Several matches were played by the Okoroire Golf Club on Saturday. The L.G.U. medal round, silver division, was won by Miss N. Beverley with a score of 87—10, 77; the bronze division was won by Mrs. Were, 101—35, 66. The men’s medal match was won by W. Wright, 7(5 —12, 64, who also won the men’s bogey handicap match, 1 up. The following team will play Putaruru at Okoroire on Saturday: Men: - Wright, Conder, Stewart, Boucher, Jones, Grey, Batley and A. E. Brown. Emergencies: Hancock and L. Brown. Ladies: Miss N. Beverley, Mesdames Carruthers, Wilding, Conder, Anderson, Dee, Laurenson and Miss Goodwin. Emergencies: Misses M. Beverley and C. Ring.

Club Chat. In the season’s eclectic competition Hutchison has drawn level with L. Little, each now having a score of 30. The greens were very bumpy after Saturday’s rain and true putting was out of the question. During last week J. Corbett and L. Little each had a card of 37 for nine holes.
