Mr. E. L. Walton, of Ngatea, who was recently appointed to represent the Hauraki Plains county on the Thames Valley Electric Power Board owing to the of Mr. H. A. Torr, of Waitakaruru, was welcomed by the chairman when he took his seat at the February meeting of the board on Tuesday. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Torr for his services during the past two years. ' ' • '> : • . . r; • vReference to a recent accident at Netherton, where a girl sustained painful burns through the explosion of a bottle of spirits of salt which had been left near a water heater, was made at the February meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power ** Board.
