TENNIS PARTY.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Keith Buchanan held an enjoyable tennis party at their home in Tower road. Chairs and a small marquee, where afternoon tea was served, were arranged on the lawn in the shade of some trees. Among those present were : Mr. and Mrs, L. Flower, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Bell, Mr. and Mrs. R. Mentiplay, Mesdames J. Carriithers, G. Wilding, A. Lambourne, Misses W. Banks, E. Stewart, Messrs. Abernethy, C. Banks, S, Egan, K. Laurie. A feature of the afternoon and an incident significant of the popularity Of Dr. J. T. Laurenson occurred when the result of the final match of the Auckland men’s singles championship was heard over the wireless, , three hearty cheers being given for i the new champion.
