MOTOR OAR STATISTICS.
A HIGH AVERAGE. i One Per 6.26 Head of * Population. . It is estimated that there is on the average one motor vehicle for every 6.26 head of population in the Morrinsville, Matamata and Putaruru districts. The population figures are only approximate, but may be taken as fairly correct. Taking the census figures and a study of the growth of the district, the population of the area between Morrinsville and Putaruru is about 14,340, while the number of motor vehicles registered for 1930, May 25 to June 30, was 2290. This averages one vehicle to 6.27 persons. Figures for the other parts of the Dominion are not available, but it is estimated that the average compares with any similar district in New Zealand and is nearly as high as the highest in America. The registrations at the individual post offices are as follow: . Morrinsville. Cars and commercial vehicles, 704 ; motor cycles, 74. Waitoa.
